Below you will find the panel schedule for both days. There will be exciting topics and sessions on both days that discuss perspectives, history, influences, the music of, and cosplay influenced by anime – and more! Panels will take place in the Grand Lobby


If you are interested in submitting a panel topic for San Diego Anime Con 2024, please fill out the form below before September 30. Panelists will be notified if they’ve been chosen by October 7, 2024. Any submissions received after September 30 will be placed on a waitlist.

Sixty years ago today, a Mighty Atom soared across Japanese television, ushering in the dawn of our favorite medium. Within five years most of the familiar subgenres had been spawned: giant robot, magical girl, bakemono, shounen. But there were also a bunch of oddballs. Blast back in time to learn the lore and see snippets from the constellation of anime Japan produced in the Swinging Sixties—most of which are available and worth watching today!

Artists like KAN, Kome Kome CLUB, Mr.Children, KinKi Kids, GLAY, and more will be discussed along with their many record-breaking songs.
