Curious about the wotaku lightstick dance? Come join San Diego’s new wotagei team – Unnamed Wotagei Unit – in an interactive panel where we will teach you how to perform some of the essential beginner wotagei moves. Any skill level is welcome and no prior knowledge is required!
1:30 PM to 2:30 PM – I Started my YouTube Channel: This is what I Learned my First Year
So, I started my YouTube channel about a year ago. And wow, I’ve learned a lot. From figuring out how to animate, to dealing with burnout, deadlines, and the chaos of the algorithm, it’s been a wild ride. In this panel, I’ll be sharing what really goes into running a story time/animation channel when you’re just starting out. We’ll talk about art, storytelling, keeping your motivation up, and all the unexpected lessons along the way. Whether you’re thinking about starting a channel or just curious what it’s like behind the scenes, come hang out and ask questions!

3:00 PM to 4:30 PM – Name That Tune: Anime Edition
Do you know your anime music? Would you like to show off in front of your fellow attendees and win prizes in the process? Music label Scarlet Moon hosts “Name That Tune,” featuring a mix of classic and modern anime tunes for the audience to identify. Those who correctly identify the tune will win a prize from Scarlet Moon Records. This panel will be hosted by Scarlet Moon owner Jayson Napolitano and Scarlet Moon Artists composer Dale North, both local to San Diego.
Scarlet Moon is a music and game label supporting creators big and small. They are an artist roster of acclaimed musical talents available to handle all audio needs, including music, vocals, sound design, and VO; a record label distributing game soundtracks and cover albums; a public relations partner promoting game music; and a games publisher partnering with developers to bring their dreams to market. Scarlet Moon’s sister brand, Violet Moon, promotes independent videogames.
Jayson Napolitano is the founder of Scarlet Moon and Violet Moon. He entered the game industry as a writer in the enthusiast media space, with bylines on DESTRUCTOID and Original Sound Version. He actively promotes a game music lifestyle and loves food, Suikoden, Metroid, and KOS-MOS.
Dale North is a composer, arranger, and orchestrator for videogames, based in San Diego. As a multi-instrumentalist (piano, vocal, brass), performer, and singer-songwriter with an international training, he brings a unique voice to videogame music. Dale’s music mixes traditional instrumentation with vintage colors, blending live pianos and orchestral tones with the synthesizers and sound sets that shaped the sounds of games from the Super Nintendo and PlayStation eras. His upbringing in Tokyo, Japan helped shape his melodic sense (and his love of synthesizers), and he continues to hold the traditions of game music in the highest regard. He’s best known for his work his soundtrack for Astral Ascent, Wargroove 2, RWBY: ARROWFELL, DREAMSCAPER, Clock Tower: Rewind, WIZARD OF LEGEND, Magical Delicacy, and SPARKLITE and his branding with with Nintendo (Nintendo Minute, Nintendo Power Podcast, Nintendo eShop “The Download”), Marvel, Disney, Tokyo Game Show, and Endgaget.

There’s a lot of anime out there! Which series had the best music this year? Join San Diego music label Scarlet Moon as we walk you through the best of the best of the 2025 season, diving into the best soundtracks, what makes them the best, and exploring the backgrounds and past credits of the artists. This panel will be hosted by Scarlet Moon owner Jayson Napolitano and Scarlet Moon Artists composer Dale North, both local to San Diego.

This panel will focus on practical tips and strategies for storing your cosplay. Whether you’re a seasoned cosplayer or just starting out, we’ll share useful information on how to preserve your costumes, and accessories such as shoes and styled wigs. We will dive into topics such as: Storage Solutions: How to store different types of materials (e.g., fabric, wigs, props) to prevent damage and keep things accessible. Labeling and Categorizing: Effective ways to categorize your costumes and parts (by character, series, or piece) so you can easily find what you need. Maintenance and Preservation: How to care for delicate materials, avoid wrinkles, and maintain wigs and props to ensure they last through multiple wears. Space-Saving Hacks: Tips for making the most of limited space, from hanging techniques to drawer organization
The Lala Sisters, Maggie and Martha, have been cosplaying together for nearly two decades. As a dynamic duo, they’ve brought to life over 100 hand-crafted costumes. While both contribute to all aspects of their projects, each sister specializes in different areas of cosplay to bring their visions to life.
Maggie (@Maggifan) focuses on wigs and props, with a particular passion for extreme wig styling. Her journey began with an obsession to create the perfect Riku wig from Kingdom Hearts, which sparked a love for spiky wig designs. Since then, she’s crafted wigs from dozens of series, and more than 20 different Super Saiyan-style wigs. Maggie will share her favorite tips and tricks for storing everything from basic wigs to the most dramatically styled ones.
Martha (@mlarad) specializes in patterning and costume construction. Her cosplay journey started with sewing pants overnight, and it quickly evolved into a pursuit of the perfect fit for every costume piece. Inspired by the elegant designs in CLAMP-themed projects, Martha has developed a talent for creating intricate, sophisticated outfits that bring anime and manga aesthetics to life. Martha will be sharing her techniques for storing a variety of cosplay outfits, from bulky costumes and layered ensembles to simpler looks and multi-piece creations.

Join theCATandROBOT for an exhilarating Anime Jeopardy! Six audience volunteers will compete in a fun, fast-paced trivia showdown, testing their anime knowledge across diverse categories. With no penalties for wrong answers and each contestant picking a category, everyone gets a chance to shine. Whether you’re a casual viewer or a die-hard fan, there’s a category for everyone. Come test your anime knowledge, laugh with fellow fans, and enjoy a lighthearted competition.
Zero and Cat, the husband-and-wife duo known as theCATandROBOT, have more than a quarter-century of convention-going experience. Since 2014, they’ve been animating conventions across Southern California with various game shows & panels, with Jeopardy standing out as the fan favorite. Eager to share their love for interactive panels and games, theCATandROBOT are here to entertain and engage attendees with their unique brand of fun-filled activities.
